To ping enemies in Modern Warfare 2, you need to press the alt button (PC) or up on the D-pad (PS4/PS5/Xbox).

This will open the ping wheel where you can select a ping option.

There are 4 ping options—Quiet, Watch, Help, and Go.

If you want to ping an enemy, you should select the “Watch” ping.

How to open the ping wheel for PC, PS4, PS5, or Xbox:

PC: Press the “Alt” button.

PS4/PS5: Press up on the D-pad.

Xbox: Press up on the D-pad.

After you’ve opened the ping wheel, scroll to the ping that you want to use (e.g. Watch).

Lastly, release the ping to ping the enemy or location.

Why can’t I ping enemies in MW2?

You can’t ping enemies in MW2 because there’s currently a glitch with the pinging feature.

The glitch will retain your ping after death.

In other words, the ping will remain in the game and on the enemy until it ends.

At the time of writing, the pinging feature is disabled and there is no ETA on when it’ll be re-enabled.

A user by the name of rennlee_ on TikTok posted a video of the glitch.

To carry out the glitch, you need to ping the enemy as soon as you’re killed.

As long as your cam was on the enemy, you’ll have a permanent live ping even if they died and respawned.
